We are seeking a dedicated and organised Patient CareAdministrator to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice, providing excellent support to both patients and medical staff. Main duties of the job
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with data protection regulations
* Handling incoming calls and correspondence with professionalism and empathy
* Assisting patients with administrative queries and providing guidance on surgery procedures
* Coordinating with medical staff to ensure seamless communication and workflow
* Processing patient documents with regards to admissions and discharges accurately
* Organising documentation for audits and regulatory compliance
* Supporting the surgery's administrative functions, including data entry and simple IT issues
Job responsibilities
* Answer telephone calls, manage enquiries, and direct or record messages appropriately.
* Support the efficient running of clinics and administrative services.
* Assist with rota coordination and provide cover as required.
* Carry out daily administrative tasks and respond to additional duties as needed.
* Manage medical records and workflow processes, including:
* Pathology
* Tasks and correspondence
* Out-of-hours (OOH) reports
* Summary Care Records (SCR)
* Clinical coding
* Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and external organisations (e.g., hospitals, pharmacies).
* Handle challenging situations with patients professionally and sensitively.
* Participate in meetings, training, and team development activities.
* Support non-clinical administrative needs of GPs and wider staff.
* Ensure timely handling of emails, documents, and internal communications.
* Troubleshoot hardware and software issues (PCs, printers, etc.) and liaise with external IT providers when required.
