Are you about to graduate? Or a newly qualified OT? Or an existing band 5 OT looking for a new challenge? If so, we have the job for you.
Due to exciting developments within the Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and hard-working occupational therapist to join our well-established, friendly team.
This post is for a Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotation. The rotations are 6 monthly and specialities include Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Acute & Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation, Community Neuro Rehabilitation, and Community inpatient rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will work through these rotations developing their skills assessing patients' function, environment, and determining any equipment, support, or ongoing rehabilitation needs. There will also be opportunities to contribute to service development projects, and we welcome new ideas and initiative.
We are therefore looking for applicants who are highly motivated and will work with us to provide a high standard of patient care. We offer a preceptorship programme and exciting training opportunities to support your development, as well as regular supervisions, peer review, in-service training, and appraisal.
We look forward to hearing from you.
The successful candidate will be required to complete relevant Occupational Therapy assessments, derive and deliver treatment plans, provide advice, and be responsible for safe discharge planning of patients across acute and community services in Tameside and Glossop. They will manage a caseload of patients, with regular supervision, using evidence-based/client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
The rotations included in this post are as follows:
1. Acute medicine
2. Acute Orthopaedics
3. Inpatient Stroke rehab
4. Intermediate Care
5. Community neuro rehab
Although the majority of these rotations currently work weekdays, there are rotations that will require minimal weekend working.
As this post does include community-based rotations, it is essential for the post holder to be able to travel between Tameside and Glossop.
