A Vacancy at East of England Ambulance Service Trust. This vacancy is for Clacton ONLY.

This vacancy is open to students who wish to continue their paramedic career with EEAST. Applicants must be able to start by June 2026. Completed university placements with EEAST should be mentioned in the application. Priority consideration will be given to applicants who hold a full C1 driving licence.

Candidates must live within one hour’s travel of their preferred base station or be willing to relocate to be eligible to apply.


Transfer Restrictions

Successful applicants will not be eligible to join the internal transfer list for a period of 24 months while completing their consolidation period.


Responsibilities

Paramedics work in a wide range of urban and rural environments, managing everything from birth to end‑of‑life care, chronic conditions to critical illness or injury. Responsibilities include delivering CQC‑rated outstanding care, working alongside clinical staff, volunteers, call handlers, dispatchers, support services, allied health professionals and partnership organisations in both hospitals and community‑based services to ensure safe referrals and discharge.


Support and Training

* No solo responding in the first 6 months.
* 150‑300 hours supervised practice in the first 12 weeks after registration with an experienced paramedic.
* Practice Educator course completion at 9 months onwards, via Trust approved practice education programme.
* 24/7 Clinical Advice Line to validate clinical decision‑making, discharge planning and practice, and to advise on procedures or on‑scene decisions.
* Personally issued tablet to access electronic patient care records, current clinical guidelines, incident management and alternative care pathway applications.
