We are hiring a site‑based engineer at a secure site in Guildford, with support provided at Frimley.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide on‑site field support to customers, including installation, servicing and repairing of systems and equipment.
* Answer customer questions and resolve issues; refer to appropriate personnel or service area for follow‑up, testing and troubleshooting.
* Act as a liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
* Perform analyses and prepare reports on system problem trends and issues.
* Assist in applying engineering principles and practices as they relate to system design, process flow and/or discrete modelling.
* Collaborate with client engineers to gather information, design changes and requirements, compiling data for overall solution design.
* Assist in the design of basic technical programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs.
* Carry out security audits of all devices holding data on the network by scanning and reporting.
* Perform Break‑Fix of all in‑scope managed devices.
* Manage asset and stock (including stock management and lifecycle of loan user equipment).
* Act as the central point of contact for customers.
* Diagnose, analyze and fix software and system faults.
* Maintain responsibility for stock used and follow correct procedures regarding stock management.
* Proactively keep customers updated with problem status at all times.


Job Details

This is a full‑time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, between the hours of 07:00‑19:00.

Employees will have access to a large library of training courses and accreditations to further skills and development.

Due to the nature of our client's work, the successful candidate must hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. Applications are only considered from British nationals.


Essential Skills / Qualifications

* SC Security Clearance (current or obtainable).
* Experience working with the company's hardware, software and equipment products.
* Experience working with customer technology and support requirements.
* Experience with process and/or system design concepts.
* Proficiency with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software.
* Familiarity with engineering principles and practices.


Desirable Skills / Qualifications

* Basic network knowledge (patching, tracing switch information, etc.).
* Experience with ServiceNow ticketing system.
