Calling all Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Workers and Nursery School Workers. This role is with Jigsaw Trust, a registered charity inspired by autism, providing education, vocational and wellbeing services for autistic people.
Please note: This role may also be referred to as 'Trainee SEN Teacher' or 'Trainee CABAS Teacher' on our careers website.
Responsibilities
* Providing teaching and support to pupils, following individualised curriculums/plans
* Preparing and delivering lessons and activities, focusing on communication and life skills
* Supporting pupil participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
* Providing behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
* Monitoring pupil progress to ensure teaching is appropriate and effective for each child
* Assisting with breaktime duties including playground support and snack times
* Providing personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain hygiene (toileting, feeding) as required

Fully Funded Training & Qualifications
* Wide range of Education & Childcare courses including RQF CACHE Levels 2, 3 & 4 in Early Years, Learning Difficulties and Teaching & Learning
* Behaviour analysis qualifications including RBT, BCBA, UKBA cert
* Masters in High Incidence & Disabilities worth up to £13,000
* Regular safeguarding, emergency medication, behaviour management and autism training
Requirements to apply
* Professional, personal or voluntary experience with children and disabilities
* Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
* Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviours
* Willingness to provide personal/intimate care when required
* Ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* A positive, can-do attitude
