Are you a recent mechanical engineering graduate or early in your career and looking for variety in your role? We’re hiring on behalf of a well-established British manufacturer based in Leicester. This is a rare opportunity that blends mechanical design, applications support, and field service engineering, perfect for someone who enjoys both CAD work and hands-on mechanical problem-solving on-site.
The role:
You will join a small, supportive engineering team responsible for designing mechanical systems and providing technical support. Your week could include designing parts at the office, liaising with customers, and travelling to install, test, or troubleshoot systems in the field.

Create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings (SolidWorks or similar)
Adapt designs to meet specific customer applications
Provide field-based support including system installation, commissioning, and servicing
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues at customer sites
Collaborate closely with production, sales, and technical teams
Assist in the testing and validation of new designs
The candidate:
Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
Some CAD design experience (academic or industry)
A hands-on approach with strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
Willingness to travel across the UK (company van provided)
Knowledge of SolidWorks
A full UK driving licence
