Managing, and may direct, the implementation and delivery of a range of risk services to support commissions and to provide line management leadership and guidance for others within the PMO and planning centre of excellence and assigned hub as required.
Please Note: This role will require BPSS and SC Security clearance and 3 days travel per week between our London and a project office based in Newbury, Berkshire.
You'll be responsible for:
* Accountable for the risk management performance of assigned commission(s).
* Creating/designing effective risk management framework(s)/strategy(s) on assigned commission(s).
* Managing and directing clients, consultants, contractors, project team on all risk management matters.
* Partnering with clients to meet their expectations and building strong professional relationships.
* Providing expert advice and support to project/programme teams in the administration of the risk process, especially regarding risks to key project objectives and risk escalation.
* Facilitating and driving the delivery of risk workshops.
* Working with project managers to recognize opportunities and mitigations to minimize risk exposure.
* Ensuring risk mitigation action plans are developed, risk and action owners are appointed, and project plans are updated and monitored accordingly.
* Managing and directing the delivery of project/programme quantitative risk analysis (cost and time).
* Commenting on the adequacy of contingency as part of the regular reporting cycle.
* Developing and delivering monthly risk reports internally and externally.
* Ensuring all activities comply with Mace control centre, client requirements, and legislation.
* Providing line management to team and other project members.
* Mentoring and supporting the personal and career development of junior risk team members.
* Integrating risk with PMO and planning disciplines.
* Supporting the HUB risk lead with resourcing and recruitment.
* Working towards the net zero carbon transition by proactively managing associated emissions and reductions during project delivery.
Qualifications and experience required include a relevant university degree, Chartered membership of a professional institution, extensive risk leadership experience on complex construction projects, and proficiency with risk management tools and software.
Additional skills include strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities, resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to challenges.
