HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates, and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management for a Portfolio Manager, Index & ETF Equity Strategies.
In this role you will:
1. Adopt effective management of Passive Equity (index, mutual, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)) investment products across a designated portfolio including monitoring investment performance and making investment decisions.
2. Be proactive in achieving target tracking performance in respect of all managed funds.
3. Have input in research and product development activities, in the development of Passive Equity and Fixed Income ETFs.
4. Assist in further developing the Investment team's capability by providing input into enhancing processes, procedures, and implementation opportunities.
5. Support the Head of Passive Equities to maintain a research, analytics, and risk framework that will improve investment capability, technology solutions, processes, and client deliverables to grow the business.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
1. Relevant knowledge and experience in Portfolio Management across Passive Equities (Index, Mutual, ETFs) are essential. Knowledge of synthetics would be a bonus.
2. Thorough understanding of buy-side Investment processes within Institutional investors is essential.
3. A commercial mindset led by a quantitative research approach with the ability to work with complex data to create positive outcomes is essential.
4. Strong stakeholder management skills to build credibility across internal and external audiences are essential.
5. Excellent organization skills and a pragmatic approach to managing multiple demands and conflicting priorities are essential.
This role is based in London and will require occasional travel for client meetings.
