The Role
The post holder will provide comprehensive clerical support to the Radiology Department ensuring a high quality service is maintained to patients and staff.
The post holder will undertake the reception of Out Patients and Accident and Emergency patients requiring x-ray examinations, giving advice and instruction to patients and relatives when necessary. Dealing compassionately and calmly with distressed or aggressive patients ensuring a speedy resolution to any problems that may occur.
The post holder will ensure the accurate input and update of patient information into the Radiology Management Computer system.

What we'll need you to bring
* The post holder should have good keyboard skills with the ability to enter information into the computer database with speed and accuracy.
* The post holder should be educated to Standard Grade level and have gained a qualification in English.
* Experience in dealing with the General Public is an essential requirement for this post.
* The post holder should possess good communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise the workload, use own initiative, work under pressure and as part of a team in order to accomplish all required tasks.
* Flexibility, adaptability, excellent telephone manner and good timekeeping are also essential requirements for this post.
* Once appointed the post holder is expected to use knowledge gained of the Ionising Radiation Regulations and an understanding of how they apply to requests for radiological examinations received within the department to make informed decisions regarding patient care, examination processes, appointment conflicts etc.
* Through time the post holder will use the experience they have gained in relation to radiological examination procedures along with knowledge of departmental operational procedures and various computer systems to deal with related non-routine activities and queries, problem solving where necessary.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have

The working pattern for this role: Mon-Fri (starting/finishing times to be confirmed)
