About the Role
You will be responsible for teaching across the MA Children’s Book Illustration programme, developing and delivering lectures, seminars and workshops on children’s book illustration and writing. You will supervise and support student projects, offering guidance on technical aspects, storytelling and industry best practice as well as organising and taking part in study trips both home and abroad. You will also contribute to curriculum development, while maintaining strong connections with the children’s book publishing industry.
There is one full time role available and two 0.5fte positions. Please indicate on your application if you are interested in full time or part time.
About the Candidate
We are looking for a candidate with a deep knowledge of children’s picture book practices who has previously taught in Higher Education. You will have a master's degree or above in illustration/fine art or appropriate related discipline. You will need a solid background in professional practice and be familiar with the current children’s publishing landscape. It’s essential that the applicant has a substantial record of current published children’s picture books. Preferably as both author and illustrator. Experience in developing and delivering teaching material across a range of modules and can demonstrate how your professional experience and industry knowledge has contributed to curriculum development.
