The Clinical Engineering Department is part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Trust, responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse range of medical equipment for two general hospitals as well as many Healthcare facilities across Dorset. We have a vacancy for a Medical Devices Administrator based at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital:
* You are the first line of contact for all our customers, both over the phone and in person.
* You must be helpful, clear and consistent in presenting departmental policies.
* You will need to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external contacts on both administrative and technical matters
* You will need to appreciate the urgency of requests and understand when problems need to be escalated.
* You will need to be a good team player to ensure smooth function of the section.
* You will have a general administrative role, which will form a significant element of the job.
* You will work closely with our existing administration team and will have particular responsibility for the administration needs of our Bournemouth workshop.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 3 business administration or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of routine and non-routine secretarial and administrative procedures and systems as used by Clinical Engineering, such as medical devices governance procedures and equipment management data manipulation.
* Knowledge of specialist functional/medical/clinical equipment terms, international medical devices nomenclatures
* Knowledge of medical devices organisational policies and procedures
* Maths GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent)
Experience
* Min 3 years office experience
* Experience of working in a hospital environment
* Front line help and support in a busy environment
Skills
* Good communication skills both verbal and written
* Ability to organise an office
* Understanding of customer care skills
* Effective team member
* Ability to prioritise work
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Knowledge of the operation and first line fault-finding of common medical equipment
* Ability to problem-solve non-routine issues
Knowledge
* Clear understanding of specialist medical and medical device terminology
* Competent in use of Microsoft Office applications
* Able to use a variety of computer databases
* Knowledge and experience to deal with
* non-routine issues such as first line problem solving for a specific area of work or adapting alternative or additional procedures
* Understanding of medical device governance requirements
