About the role
We are currently hiring for an Engineering Team Leader at our Ossett site to lead a team of 3 engineers on shift. This hands-on role involves managing all aspects of daily maintenance, working a 12-hour shift pattern on days and nights. Overtime is available.
Responsibilities include:
1. Collaborate with Production Team Leads/Managers to deliver high-quality engineering support aligned with operational targets.
2. Supervise and coordinate engineering activities supporting manufacturing operations.
3. Meet team KPIs related to equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance.
4. Coach team members on safe working practices and fault diagnosis.
5. Plan and allocate resources efficiently.
6. Motivate and develop team skills and competencies.
7. Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
8. Support other departments as needed, demonstrating company values.
9. Manage non-conformance and corrective actions to ensure compliance.
Hands-on duties:
1. Address reactive maintenance needs.
2. Assist in developing PPM systems and scheduling maintenance.
3. Ensure compliance with legislation and procedures.
4. Diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery.
5. Coordinate with production staff to communicate issues.
6. Maintain high line availability by reducing downtime.
7. Conduct effective root cause analysis.
8. Manage tools, stores, and equipment.
9. Contribute to site improvements.
Qualifications for success:
Ideal candidates will have:
* Experience in an FMCG environment.
* Apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, with an Electrical Engineering HND/HNC/BTech or equivalent.
* Strong fault-finding skills.
* PLC fault diagnosis (desirable).
* Leadership experience preferred but not required.
