Are you an experienced professional in ship and air integration looking for your next challenge? Our client, a leader in defence and maritime projects, is seeking a Ship/Air Integration Lead to join their team based in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the cutting‑edge Fleet Solid Support Ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
Due to the tight timescales involved, successful candidates are required to already hold a valid SC security clearance.
Role Details
* Location: Bristol (3 days onsite per week)
* Contract: ASAP until 31 March 2026, with potential for extension
* Security Clearance: SC clearance required
* Day Rate: Up to £570 (inside IR35)
* Working Hours: 7.5 hours per day
What You’ll Be Doing
This role is split equally between two core areas:
* 50% – Ship/Air integration: Leading ship/air interface activities, ensuring seamless coordination between the vessel and aerial systems. Please note, this does not require aviation expertise, but strong knowledge of ship/air integration processes is essential.
* 50% – Safety management: safety management during shipbuilding project.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in ship and air system integration
* Strong safety management background, ideally within shipbuilding projects
* Hold a Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or higher
* Broad experience providing technical advice and leading successful engineering outcomes
* Professional registration with a relevant body, such as IEng, CEng, RSci, CSci, RMarSci, RMarTech, IMarEng, or CMarEng
