One of our clients operating within the energy and power infrastructure sector is seeking a Project Planner to support the delivery of complex EPC projects across the UK.
This role is critical in ensuring clear planning, scheduling, and performance visibility throughout the full project lifecycle, from early bid stages through to construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Support EPC projects from the proposal stage through to execution, covering Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning
Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules aligned to project objectives and contractual requirements
Establish baseline programmes and manage ongoing schedule updates and progress reporting
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure visibility of milestones, deadlines, and overall project status
Review, validate, and integrate subcontractor and supplier schedules and WBS structures into the overall master programme
Monitor construction activities against the approved plan, identifying risks and deviations
Maintain robust schedule version control and ensure accurate documentation of changes
Escalate programme slippage or performance issues promptly, proposing corrective and recovery actions
Develop and track KPIs to support delivery of the agreed project plan
Produce regular planning and performance reports, including dashboards, milestone reports, charts, and graphs
Resource‑load and cost‑load project schedules, working closely with the cost control function to track performance and variances
Candidate Profile
Minimum 2+ years' experience in a project planning or scheduling role
Proven experience producing and managing project programmes
Proficiency with Primavera P6 (or strong site‑based planning experience)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
Project Management certification considered beneficial
Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Analytical and detail‑oriented with the ability to identify risks and trends
Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast‑paced project environment
Proactive mindset with strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Technical understanding of power, energy, or infrastructure projects
