THE ROLE
TAG GeoCommercial Strategy Group seeks a highly motivated Associate or Senior Associate to support its engagements with boards and executive teams. In this role, the Associate or Senior Associate will work closely with other members of TAG GeoCommercial Strategy Group’s rapidly growing team to structure and execute high impact engagements for the leadership of corporates seeking innovative strategies to address the emerging GeoCommercial moment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, strategic acumen, and a keen interest in the intersection of business strategy, geopolitics, and economic policy.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with between 2-4 years of relevant experience in management consulting, geopolitical analysis, or economic strategy. A demonstrated understanding of structured consulting frameworks and methodologies is essential. A master’s degree in business administration or a related field, or prior government experience or related work in geopolitics, Asia, or international economic institutions is highly valued.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead high impact sectoral and company specific research in support of executive engagements, including board briefings, interviews, surveys, scenario planning workshops, and tabletop exercises (interactive workshops responding to simulated crises);
* Work closely with TAG GeoCommercial Strategy Group leadership in the development and refinement of consulting frameworks and methodologies that will be used to assist companies to enhance the role of geopolitics in corporate strategy and respond to emerging geopolitical shifts;
* Contribute to thought leadership on newly developed GeoCommercial offerings through the drafting or support of articles, op-eds, podcasts, and other public facing collateral;
* Engage in original research on geopolitical and economic trends affecting business strategy across global markets;
* Participate actively in firm-wide business development activities, supporting proposal preparation, opportunity identification, and contributing to strategic client engagement planning.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in business, economics, finance, international political economy, international relations, or other disciplines related to strategic assessment and analysis preferred; MBA considered a plus
* 2-4 years of relevant work experience in management consulting or corporate strategy at a multinational company;
* Exceptional analytical, writing, and communication skills, with experience producing high-quality, client-ready PowerPoint presentations and other branded deliverables;
* Strong oral presentation abilities, capable of clearly articulating complex strategic insights to diverse audiences, including senior corporate executives;
* Strong organization capabilities and ability to initiate and see tasks through to completion;
* Demonstrated ability to analyze commercial strategies within complex geopolitical and economic environments – experience working on Europe, Africa, or the Americas will be considered a plus
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience interfacing with senior executives or government officials, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of integrating public policy with business strategy;
* Proven experience using quantitative analytical tools and data visualization software.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and are expected to work in-person at the TAG Washington, D.C. office five days per week. Please note that TAG maintains a dog-friendly office environment. Candidates should be comfortable working in close proximity to dogs as part of our standard in-person work setting.
TAG provides competitive benefits, including premium health insurance, generous paid time off, 401(k) matching, and commuter allowances, with regular training opportunities available to its employees.
