About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to help manage and maintain the Council’s diverse property portfolio. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safety, compliance, and high standards across a wide range of assets. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused position within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensuring asset compliance, safety, and statutory maintenance
- Delivering planned and reactive maintenance programmes
- Managing capital repair projects (£100k+) from procurement through to completion
- Overseeing budgets, contracts, and procurement activity
- Working closely with internal teams and external partners
- Maintaining accurate property data, records, and performance metrics
Skills & Experience Required
Education
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
Experience
- Delivering repair & maintenance programmes
- Managing contractors, budgets, and stakeholder relationships
Skills
- Strong communication and leadership
- Understanding of legal and contract frameworks
- Proficient with digital property systems
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving ability
