Procurement Engineer – Cyber Security Forum Initiative
Location: Samlesbury (Hybrid 2-3 days per week)
Salary: £33.24/hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract: 6 or 12 months initially
Overview
This role is within the DLF & Service Provision Value Team. The Procurement Engineer will manage and drive strategic value‑related sourcing activities, ensuring cost reduction, supplier risk management and supply chain resilience across assigned suppliers.
Responsibilities
* Manage supplier relationships and act as stakeholder for supplier performance across life‑cycle management and governance activities.
* Analyse supplier pricing to ensure value for money and drive cost reductions and affordability campaigns.
* Ensure effective supplier risk management and supply chain resilience.
* Support internal stakeholders with sourcing and supplier relationship management initiatives.
Knowledge
* Continuous improvement mindset with proven examples of identifying ideas that drive improvement and problem solving in a procurement or similar environment.
* Detailed understanding of supplier risk and opportunity management.
* Working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable
* Previous experience managing strategic supplier relationships and complex development contracts.
Skills
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills, fostering close and trusting relationships with demanding internal and external stakeholders.
* Negotiation skills and experience of price and contractual terms and conditions negotiations.
* Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations.
