We're working closely with a range of specialist and mainstream schools across Northampton who are seeking caring, resilient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September 2025. These schools cater to students with a variety of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities, SEMH, and physical or sensory impairments.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive educational environment and help young people overcome barriers to learning.
Your Role Will Involve:
Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with additional needs
Assisting the class teacher with tailored lessons and individualised learning plans
Helping students to manage behaviour, regulate emotions, and engage in learning
Supporting pupils with personal care needs (where required)
Creating a calm, consistent, and inclusive classroom environment
Building strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Has a genuine passion for working with children with SEN
Remains calm, patient, and supportive in challenging situations
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Shows empathy, resilience, and consistency
Has experience supporting students with SEND in a school, care, or youth setting (desirable but not essential)
Is eager to learn and develop professionally
