Location: London
Salary: £100,000 - £140,000+ DOE
Benefits: Hybrid working (50% office attendance), accelerated partnership progression, strong BD & marketing support, collaborative leadership team, clear growth opportunity within an expanding London office.
About the Company:
An established and highly regarded Legal 500 law firm is continuing to invest in the growth of its London offering. With a strong reputation across multiple practice areas and ambitious plans for further expansion, the firm is seeking a senior Employment Lawyer to play a key role in developing and strengthening its employment practice in the City.
The firm is known for its supportive culture, commercial approach and commitment to promoting talented lawyers based on merit rather than time served. Significant investment is made into business development, marketing and client experience, providing lawyers with the platform and support needed to grow their profile and practice.
Role Summary:
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Employment Lawyer to take ownership of a growing London-based practice and help shape its future direction. The role would suit an established Partner with a client following, or a commercially minded Senior Associate or Legal Director ready to step into a leadership position.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will handle a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters while driving business development initiatives and strengthening the firm's presence across London and the surrounding regions.
There is also potential for wider leadership responsibilities within the London office for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, providing strategic advice to clients across multiple sectors.
• Build and develop client relationships, creating opportunities to expand both your own practice and the wider firm's offering.
• Support corporate transactions and wider commercial matters through specialist employment law expertise.
• Develop referral relationships and networking opportunities to enhance market presence and generate new instructions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver a seamless full-service client experience.
• Contribute to the future growth strategy of the employment team, helping shape recruitment, service delivery and business development initiatives.
Requirements:
• Qualified Solicitor with strong employment law expertise.
• Experience advising employers on a broad range of employment matters including dismissals, restructures, restrictive covenants and day-to-day advisory work.
• Demonstrable business development capability and enthusiasm for growing client relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic legal advice.
• Leadership potential with the confidence to work autonomously and help build a practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
If this role isn’t quite right, it’s still worth speaking to one of our specialist team — we may be working on something that hasn’t hit the market yet.
