About the role:

You'll be involved in a variety of work - from species and habitat surveys to analysing data, writing high-quality reports, and liaising with clients and stakeholders. Ideal candidates will be organised, self-motivated, and capable of making sound decisions in the field and the office.

Applicants should have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel, or reliable transportation to reach remote sites - sometimes outside regular working hours. A company vehicle may be available after probation. We also offer paid overtime and flexibility, making this an excellent opportunity for ecologists looking to grow in a fast-moving industry.

Minimum requirements:

* A relevant degree in ecology or a related subject, OR at least two years' experience in ecological consultancy
* Proven field survey experience (e.g., habitats, bats, other protected species)
* Strong botanical identification skills
* Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments and the UKHab classification
* Track record in office-based consultancy work such as reporting and mapping

Preferred qualifications:

* Membership of CIEEM
* Level 1 or 2 Class Licence for bat surveys (other survey licences welcome)
* Licences for other protected species surveys
* EPS Mitigation Licensing experience
* Proficiency in GIS mapping
* Understanding of relevant protected species planning policies, including the NPPF and local plans
