An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist within Havering Intermediate Care team. This post involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a community-based service with an integrated approach to care.
Responsibilities
* Carry out clinical visits to patients in their own homes and in care homes, delivering occupational interventions to the population.
* Work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team; communicate effectively with patients, carers and other MDT colleagues; work under pressure as required.
* Engage in continuing professional development and undertake training as supported by the Trust.
* Be a driver with a full UK licence and have access to a car (essential).
* Contribute to proactive, holistic care planning in collaboration with district nurses, physiotherapists, nurses and community matrons.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Member of the Health Professionals Council; Registered Occupational Therapist
* Knowledge and skill in a variety of physical health conditions including stroke and neuro-rehabilitation
* Minimum 24 months post-registration experience as an OT in an NHS setting
* Experience in community adult services and rehabilitation; experience working in a multi-disciplinary / integrated team
* Basic IT skills and ability to keep accurate, legible notes
Conditions & Benefits
* Band 6 salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per year plus High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) 15% (minimum £4,714 to £5,941 per year)
* Permanent, full-time role with probationary period; internal applicants may have different terms as applicable
* Comprehensive induction for new starters; induction held at the Trust head office in Rainham, Essex
