Job Responsibilities:
1. Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians at crossing points.
2. Maintain regular contact with local schools attended by children using the crossing.
3. Assess risks at the crossing site regularly, report any problems or defects to the supervisor.
4. Assist in preparing reports on accidents, failure-to-stop incidents, and other occurrences at the crossing.
5. Ensure all uniforms and equipment are maintained in good condition; request replacements when needed.
6. Give clear signals to drivers to stop traffic and ensure pedestrians can cross safely.

This role involves assisting at the crossing twice daily—once in the morning and once in the afternoon—ensuring pedestrian safety. We seek punctual, reliable, approachable individuals who enjoy engaging with the public. The position is approximately 7.5 hours per week, during school term time (39 weeks), with shifts of about 45 minutes each, between 08:00-09:00 and 14:45-15:45, depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
