As a Homeownership Officer,you’llsupport homeowners, manage income recovery, and work with internal teams and external partners to ensure homes are safe,secureand managed in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Salary: £43,408.40 per year (plus car allowance of £2,750.28)
Contract: Permanent, full time
Your week: 36.25 hours Monday – Friday 9am – 5.15pm
Location: Hybrid with a weekly presence in either our Rushden or Peterborough office
Snapshot of your role
* Deliver a customer-focused service, responding to homeowner enquiries in line with service standards, legislationand regulatory requirements
* Manage and resolve lease, transfer and service charge queries, working with customers and external agencies, including attending meetings and home visits
* Monitor and manage rent, service charge and other income, taking action on complex arrears cases to maximise income recovery
* Negotiate repayment plans, provide welfare benefit advice and support customers to manage and prioritise debts
* Prepare and manage legal cases, including court applications, witness statements and representing Ampliusat hearings, tribunals and evictions
* Investigate and resolve breaches of lease, disputes and service charge issues, ensuring compliance with lease agreements and legal requirements
* Maintain accurate digital records, support Section 20 consultation processes and provide advice to internal teams on leasehold matters and legal covenants
Whatyou’ll need to thrive in this role
* Strong knowledge of leases, freehold transfers and management agreements
* Confidence using day-to-day IT systems (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
* Good understanding of rent and service charge budgets, accounts and arrears recovery
* Ability to interpret complex legal, financial and technical information clearly and accurately
* Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
* Confident communication skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations and negotiate repayment plans
* A strong awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion, with the ability to work sensitively with a wide range of customers and communities
A full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel is essential for this role.
