Occupational Therapy Assistant
South Thames Colleges Group is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist the Occupational Therapist to carry out Occupational Therapy recommendations to support learners with learning and communication differences e.g. ADHD, ASD, dyspraxia, learning disabilities and complex needs.
You will implement individual and/or group sessions to support participation in functional learning activities and liaise with teaching teams and families/carers to provide a coordinated approach and ensure Occupational Therapy recommendations are integrated into each learner’s day. Monitoring therapeutic recommendations to ensure effectiveness, you will contribute to and carry out holistic support plans and prepare contributions for EHCP reviews as required.
As our Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will have a successful recent record of working with a caseload of young adults with a wide range of learning, communication differences and support needs and of devising and implementing Occupational Therapy recommendations for young adults with communication difference, ASD and complex needs. With experience of contributing to assessment reports or feedback for a wide audience, you will be able to support through the delivery of quality therapeutic recommendations, communication development, staff development and student success.
You will be an organised individual, able to communicate effectively at all levels and use initiative and prioritise workload with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. With good computer skills, you will be able to work flexibly and contribute to the review of existing systems/service development, able to keep clear and accurate records.
Travel and Sites
This is a group wide role and you will be required to travel and work from any of the STCG sites.
