Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Centre Director to lead a well-established, 60-bed specialist service delivering 24-hour nursing care and therapy for adults with complex long-term neurological conditions.
This is a unique opportunity to take strategic and operational leadership of a high-performing service rated Good across all areas, with a clear focus on quality improvement, clinical excellence, and rehabilitation outcomes.
About the Service
The centre provides specialist care and rehabilitation for adults with complex neurological needs, including:
* Complex Physical Conditions – disorders of consciousness, spinal injuries, tracheostomy and ventilated care, complex stroke
* Neuroprogressive Conditions – including Huntington’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease
* Neurorehabilitation – supporting individuals with acquired or traumatic brain injuries (ABI/TBI) and other neurological conditions
The service focuses on slow stream rehabilitation, maximising independence, comfort, and quality of life for each individual.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior leadership role within an established and respected service.
You will work closely with an experienced clinical and operational team, including interim leadership support during a period of maternity leave within the senior team.
The service recently received a warning notice relating to medication management following an inspection, and you will play a key role in strengthening governance, driving improvements, and embedding best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide overall leadership and direction for the centre
* Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care
* Lead on clinical governance and regulatory compliance
* Drive continuous improvement, particularly in medicines management
* Oversee operational performance, staffing, and financial management
* Inspire and develop a multidisciplinary team
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, families, and external professionals
About You
We are looking for a confident and credible senior leader who can bring:
* Proven experience in a senior management role within health or social care
* Strong understanding of complex neurological care and rehabilitation services
* Experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams in a residential or hospital setting
* A track record of improving quality and achieving regulatory compliance
* In-depth knowledge of clinical governance and medicines management
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
A clinical qualification (e.g. RGN/RMN/AHP) is highly desirable but not essential with the right level of experience.
