As a Band 5 School Nurse, you will work as part of a supportive public health nursing team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to school-aged children and their families. You will contribute to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and support children and young people with a wide range of health needs across schools, clinics, homes and community venues.
Working under the supervision of a Senior School Nurse or Team Leader, you will manage a delegated caseload and play a key role in promoting physical, emotional and mental wellbeing, early intervention and prevention.
Main duties of the job
* Support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme across universal and targeted services
* Undertake health assessments and provide evidence-based advice and interventions for children and young people
* Deliver health promotion activities within schools and community settings
* Support vulnerable children and families in line with safeguarding and early help frameworks
* Work collaboratively with schools, families and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people
* Contribute to school and community-based drop-in clinics
* Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service improvement initiatives
* Participate in supervision, training and continuing professional development
