If you love football and numbers, it’s unlikely there’s a better job out there for you than this.
Yes, you’ll have to work early, late and night shifts, but when you’re watching football and analysing them to price up betting markets, is it really work?
The aim of the trading team that you’ll be joining will be to provide the best prices for all markets traded here. Whether it’s sportsbook or spread betting you’ll be part of the team analysing the markets, optimising bet values and monitoring liabilities to make sure you’re not being outpriced by competitors or bettors with high-quality knowledge.
You’ll be joining as a Junior Trader, so you can expect a lot of help from more experienced traders who can mentor you and give you pointers wherever you need them. You won’t be thrown in the deep end and whilst initially you may be more focused on working with the customer services team to help solve queries, or settle markets and book telephone bets, you’ll learn quickly and realise that you’ll need to stay calm under pressure and have a great eye for detail.
All of the work in this team is on football markets across the world, day in day out, so you’ll have to love football.
On top of loving football and having a deep knowledge in all areas of the sport, you’ll need to have a strong quantitative background with the ability to calculate bets quickly. Therefore, an interest in betting markets will be required too. If you’re reading this and wondering if you’re right, it’s most likely you’re a recent graduate, or just about to graduated in a quantitative subject and you’re looking for your first job.
You’ll be given a fantastic chance to learn all about sports betting and trading and you’ll be able to progress through the team and the business over time.
