Are you a compassionate and resilient individual looking to make a real difference in a child’s learning journey?
GSL Education are currently seeking a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming school in Nottingham from September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly in a one-to-one capacity, to help them engage, achieve, and flourish in a nurturing learning environment.
Role Overview:
As a 1:1 SEND TA, you will work closely with a specific pupil who requires additional support due to learning difficulties, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or communication needs. You will play a vital role in enabling the pupil to access the curriculum and develop socially and emotionally through tailored interventions and consistent encouragement.
Responsibilities as a 1:1 SEND TA:
* Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND throughout the school day.
* Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and personal development.
* Implement behaviour strategies and follow individual support plans.
* Monitor and record progress, sharing observations with the SENCO and class teacher.
* Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for the pupil.
* Liaise with families and external professionals as required.
Requirements for the 1:1 SEND TA role:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 setting.
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning support.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and child development.
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.

* Personalised support from dedicated consultants.
* Access to CPD opportunities and training.
* Flexible work to fit around your availability.
* Honest, transparent, and ethical recruitment service.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
