Overview
This Case Administrator role is based within an Approved Premises and remote or home working cannot be offered. Working pattern will be discussed with the successful candidate. Approved Premises (AP) are residential units, primarily for those who have been released on licence and who require a high level of supervision to manage the risk of harm they present to the public. The AP plays a key role in supporting the management of these offenders in their transition from custody into the community.

The Probation Service also offers annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF), designed to enable movement up the pay band range as competence grows.

Responsibilities
* Provide administrative and support functions within the Probation Service and the Approved Premises team.
* Support the management of offenders in transition from custody to the community, contributing to public safety.
* Support the probation team with day‑to‑day tasks and casework as required.

* You must have the right to work in the UK and Civil Service nationality rules apply.
* From 22 July 2025, Skilled Worker visa changes apply. This role is not eligible for a new Skilled Worker visa unless you held a Skilled Worker visa prior to 22 July 2025 changes. If you have held a Skilled Worker visa continuously, raise this during pre‑employment checks for eligibility assessment.
* If you apply and have not held a Skilled Worker visa prior to 22 July 2025, you will need to consider options for obtaining and/or maintaining the right to work in the UK.
* You must ensure you have and maintain the legal right to live and work in the Civil Service and in the United Kingdom.

Recruitment process
To apply to this role you will be required to complete a short application form and respond to Civil Service Behaviours and Experience‑based questions. You will complete the Civil Service Judgement Test (CSJT), a two‑part test assessing decision‑making related to civil service behaviours. The CSJT is stage one of the application process, with a practice test available. Details on reasonable adjustments and the CSJT are provided in the linked resources. If successful in passing this stage, your full application will be sifted after the application deadline and you will receive further instructions. If you pass both CSJT and sift, you will be invited to interview. In high‑volume periods, applicants may be assessed against the lead behaviour only, with updates provided as you progress.
