We are a small charity with an income of around £100k, looking for an independent examiner to complete the annual review of our accounts.
We work with Ashanti and migrant communities in Ghana. In the UK we are a 100% volunteer organisation.

What are we looking for?
The volunteer must be 100% independent from the charity, ie they must not be a trustee or volunteer in another context, must have no close relationship with the trustees, and there must be no conflict of interest.
They must have solid experience in accounting/finance/bookkeeping;
They must have working familiarity with Charity SORP and/or preparing or reviewing charity accounts;
They must be able to communicate findings clearly and professionally and have a pragmatic and proportionate approach.
Not essential but desirable
experience acting as an independent examiner;
knowledge of restricted funds/fund accounts;
experience with small charities in England and Wales.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for someone to
independently examine our annual accounts and underlying records for the year ended ;
review key areas (bank, income streams, expenditure, restricted/designated funds where relevant, and basic controls);
check that the accounts are prepared in accordance with applicable UK charity reporting requirements, including Charity SORP (FRS 102) where applicable;
provide an Independent Examiner's Report (template available) and raise any issues with trustees.
