A European food retailer is looking to hire an experienced Tax Manager to join the evolving finance team. The company supplies meat products to clients across the UK and Europe and is a market leader in its industry.
Your new role
As a Tax Manager, you will oversee the tax function and strategy for the UK entity and group. Your responsibilities include managing tax processes end-to-end, ensuring controls and reporting mechanisms are robust, and optimizing the company's tax position.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the preparation and submission of annual corporation tax returns and computations.
2. Ensure compliance with Pillar 2 framework and collaborate with finance functions on Pillar 2 tax returns.
3. Prepare and submit VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions.
4. Assist with quarterly and year-end tax reporting for international entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and collaborate with the Group Reporting Director during audits to align tax and financial reporting under IFRS.
5. Support global tax reporting and compliance requirements, including Country-by-Country Reporting and Pillar Two regulations.
6. Investigate ownership structures and tax implications of mergers and acquisitions.
7. Ensure proper application and reporting of withholding taxes internationally.
8. Develop and maintain a tax risk management framework with strong internal controls.
9. Monitor changes in UK and international tax laws, assess impacts, and implement necessary adjustments.
What you'll need to succeed
You should be a CTA or ACA qualified tax accountant with experience leading an international tax function. Strong knowledge of international tax accounting and reporting standards is essential, and experience with SAP is desirable. You should possess strong technical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and proficiency in handling large datasets.
