York (North Yorkshire)
Integrated Care System
Principal
Posted: 10 July
Offer description

Stockton Hall Hospital is a 112-bed medium secure hospital located in the beautiful City of York. We are an independent sector hospital that exclusively treats NHS patients, working closely with NHS colleagues to achieve the best outcomes. We collaborate with the Humber and North Yorkshire Provider Collaborative as part of the local Integrated Care Board.

At Stockton Hall Hospital, we value the contributions of every team member and prioritize working in partnership with our patients. The team spirit and mutual support create a fantastic working environment. Our consultant colleagues have a collective experience of about 45 years at Stockton Hall, which has traditionally been a place of longer stays and positive well-being experiences.

Main duties of the job

Are you passionate about providing psychological support to women who have experienced trauma and mental health difficulties? We are seeking an experienced, HCPC-registered Principal Psychologist with experience working with women, ideally in a forensic mental health setting. You will join a multidisciplinary team on a 12-bed medium secure female service, offering leadership, consultancy, assessment, and interventions. Ideally, the post-holder will have specialist training in psychological models for trauma (e.g., CBT for trauma, EMDR) and/or other therapies. There is an opportunity to train and support the implementation of Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) within the service, which is an exciting and innovative aspect of this role. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the wider provider collaborative to drive developments within the women's service line.

You will join our dynamic, well-established Psychology Department within a respected service. Our medium-secure care setting provides a broad range of therapeutic interventions, including one-to-one and group-based psychological treatments. Our service has achieved excellent recovery results, maximizing patients' opportunities to progress to lower-security conditions safely and efficiently.

We continue to record vaccination status for all colleagues as part of our infection control and compliance efforts. We request that you disclose this information during pre-employment checks.
