About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join our SEN school in Chelmsford. This role involves supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored and engaging lessons
3. Support students with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
4. Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies
5. Foster a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
6. Assist with personal care where required (training will be provided)
7. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
8. Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
9. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
11. The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
12. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
13. A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
