Are you an experienced administrator or manager, looking for a new challenge?
We are seeking a full-time Deputy Practice Manager to join our team.
You will work alongside the Practice Manager, learning from her and also carrying out your own responsibilities.
Over time and with training, your role will be to deputise for the current Manager in her absence. Full training will be provided.
You will need to be an excellent communicator, have a proven track record of managing people in the workplace, able to handle difficult situations, and be a strong negotiator. You should be self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. A strong work ethic and a love of people are essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
To work alongside the Practice Manager and learn her role to fully cover in her absence. This will involve responsibilities such as dealing with HR issues daily, covering for other team members when needed (once trained), managing maintenance issues with our admin team maintenance lead, ensuring the buildings operate smoothly, and addressing various problems as they arise.
You will be expected to cover roles within the admin and reception teams, providing opportunities to learn various roles within the team over time.
Your own designated roles will include payroll and finance administration, planning rotas for the clinical team and arranging cover, producing reports, and managing patient records. These responsibilities will be tailored to your strengths.

Cantilupe Surgery is a busy city centre practice serving 12,660 patients in central Hereford.
We have a large reception and admin team supported by the Practice Manager, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners.
Our GP team includes three Partners, five Salaried GPs, a GP Registrar, and a Nurse Lead.
Job responsibilities

Own roles may include:
* Monthly payroll and related tasks
* Processing patient reports and copies of notes
* Cover for finance admin in her absence
* Producing GP and ANP rotas, arranging locum cover, and uploading rotas to the clinical system
* Managing staff training and holiday rotas via internal systems
* Assisting the Practice Manager with CQC protocols and requirements
You will be supported by a large team with defined roles, but in the Practice Manager's absence, you will be expected to lead on matters requiring attention.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE Grade A-C or equivalent in Maths and English
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
* Previous NHS experience
* Ability to work at pace and prioritize tasks
* Leadership experience
* Knowledge or qualification in Medical Terminology
* Understanding of NHS policies

Salary range: £13 - £16 per hour, depending on experience.
