Reporting to the Operations Director, we're recruiting for a Material Planner, responsible for planning manufacturing work schedules into the production areas.
As the Material Planner, you'll develop and maintain production job schedules, in line with customer needs, establish strong relationships and provide world class levels of service to internal customers, and drive improved performance based on measurable KPIs.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Planning, coordinating and controlling interdepartmental activity within the Customer Programme Management team, Quality team, Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Production and Logistics to ensure 'on time in full' (OTIF) deliveries.
2. Maintaining MRP to ensure alignment between material position and production capability/schedule (Sales order dates, job start dates, kit release etc).
3. Reviewing production orders for proper time keeping, material issue, and Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy.
4. Ensuring correct setting of MRP planning parameters.
5. Establishing efficient planning production systems to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
6. Supporting the Bid & Contract review processes by assessing optimal manufacturing batch sizes and manufacturing times.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Skills and Experience we're looking for:
7. A persistence to drive task completion and results on time.
8. Proficiency with Lean tools and techniques.
9. Project Management skills and awareness.
10. An analytical problem solver.
11. Effective prioritisation and time management.
12. Knowledge of Aerospace or a similar industry.
13. Extensive experience working in low volume, high product mix, build-to-print environments and design to spec environments.
14. Excellent communication skills and demonstrable experience of effective negotiation and influencing skills for win-win outcomes.
15. Proactive change management experience.
16. A strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
17. The ability to read and translate engineering drawings and documentation.
