The job itself

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (Level 3) to join our dedicated Occupational Therapy service in the East Riding. This is an exciting internal opportunity to support people to live safely and independently within their own homes, working alongside qualified Occupational Therapists to deliver practical, person‑centred interventions.

As a Level 3 OTA, you will play a key role in assessing functional needs, supporting the provision of equipment and minor adaptations, and helping individuals regain or maintain independence in their daily routines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out delegated assessments and interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
2. Support with the provision, fitting, and review of daily living equipment
3. Contribute to minor and major adaptations to promote safety and independence
4. Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, and partner agencies
5. Maintain clear and accurate case records in line with council policies
6. Promote wellbeing, independence, and a strengths‑based approach in all interactions
7. Participate in team meetings, training, and service development activities

The above list is not exhaustive and may be subject to change and will be appropriate to the level and nature of the role.

We are looking for someone who is:

8. Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting others
9. Confident working independently and managing their own caseload
10. Skilled in communication, problem‑solving, and building rapport
11. Able to work in a fast‑paced community environment
12. Organised, flexible, and keen to learn
13. Experienced in care, rehabilitation, therapy support or a similar field (desirable)

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is usually required due to the nature of the role.

What We Offer

14. A supportive, friendly, and experienced team environment
15. Regular supervision and opportunities for professional development
16. Training to expand your OT skills and career prospects
17. A role where you can make a real and meaningful difference every day
