Role Description
The Mechanical Services Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day mechanical operations on construction or building sites. This includes managing mechanical installations such as HVAC, plumbing, and heating systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines. The role acts as the key point of contact between on-site trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers.
Role Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate mechanical site activities and subcontractors.
* Ensure all mechanical installations (e.g., HVAC, pipework, ductwork, plumbing systems) are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
* Monitor work progress against the project schedule and report delays or risks to the project team.
* Ensure health, safety, and environmental policies are adhered to at all times on-site.
* Review and interpret technical drawings and documents; identify and resolve any discrepancies.
* Liaise with customers, consultants, and other trades to ensure coordination on-site.
* Conduct site inspections and quality checks on mechanical installations.
* Oversee the ordering and delivery of mechanical materials and ensure proper storage and handling.
* Manage site documentation, including site diaries, progress reports, and toolbox talks.
* Participate in commissioning activities and handover processes.
Role Requirements and Qualifications
* Desirable trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
* Proven experience (typically 3–5+ years) in mechanical site supervision within construction or building services.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems: HVAC, plumbing etc.
* Good knowledge of construction health & safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, HSE, etc.).
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Desirable SMSTS or SSSTS.
* CSCS/Gold Card, First Aid
* Experience working on large commercial, industrial, or healthcare projects.
