Join us and help us in continuing our outstanding journey!

Amazing Career Opportunity

We are the Finance Team of a dynamic company that works on behalf of Sunderland City Council to deliver children's services including social care, early help and education. Our goal in everything is Put the Child First.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to forge a career within the Finance Service of the Company which will offer the right candidate the opportunity to access a programme of support to qualify as an Accounting Technician (AAT) whilst gaining valuable experience within a busy Finance Team and learn all aspects of this exciting child-centred organisation.

The postholder will be a key member of the Team and will proactively provide support on all aspects of finance and will assist budget holders both within the Company and Schools with budget preparation and management. The postholder will also help support the timely completion of final accounts, government returns and grant claims.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn both on the job and by examination; they will have excellent inter-personal skills and be a real team player.

Candidates could be part-AAT qualified or just starting this journey; any experience of working as part of a busy team would be an advantage.

Visa sponsorship: We welcome applications from all nationalities; however, successful candidates must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Deborah Orr, Head of Accounting and Finance, on 07502 684851 (deborah.orr@togetherforchildren.org.uk).

Together for Children have a fostering friendly People policy for all foster carers in their employment (regardless of their fostering service). This includes offering foster carers flexible working and paid time off for training and settling a new child into their home.

As a Fostering Friendly employer, Together for Children also help promote Foster Care Fortnight, our annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering and encourage people to consider becoming foster carers and offer children the care they need - Foster with North East - Foster with North East
