Regulatory Compliance & Investigations Associate / Senior Associate – Birmingham / Hybrid
BCL Legal is working with a leading global law firm to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate for its Regulatory Compliance & Investigations (Corporate Crime) team in Birmingham. The role focuses on complex, high‑profile economic‑crime matters across a broad range of sectors, offering exposure to both contentious and non‑contentious work.
Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of complex regulatory, compliance and investigations work, both contentious and non‑contentious
* Advising clients on economic crime, regulatory compliance and enforcement matters
* Supporting internal investigations and crisis‑response strategies
* Working closely with senior stakeholders, including partners and the Head of Corporate Crime
* Keeping up to date with developments in economic‑crime legislation and regulatory law, sharing knowledge across the team
* Playing an active role in business development by writing articles, delivering seminars and building client relationships
* Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners, supporting their development and progression
* Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas to deliver integrated, commercial advice
Qualifications
* Qualified solicitors with 4+ years’ PQE and strong experience in economic crime and/or regulatory investigations
* Solid background in criminal litigation and a good understanding of the criminal justice system and regulatory landscape
* Ability to deliver technically excellent, commercially focused advice
* Confidence working with limited supervision on complex matters
* Strong client‑relationship and business‑development skills
* Enjoyment of mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team growth
* Proactiveness, collaboration and willingness to further develop expertise
