As a Pastoral Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive school environment where pupils can thrive both emotionally and academically. You will work closely with students who may need additional guidance, reassurance, or crisis support, helping them build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.Working alongside the Head of Behaviour and Welfare and the wider leadership team, you will help shape and deliver effective pastoral support across the school, ensuring consistency, compassion, and high expectations in everything we do.This is a role where no two days are the same — but every day brings the opportunity to make a lasting impact.Key Responsibilities
Promote a respectful and inclusive environment that celebrates every pupil's individuality and potential
Support the school's ethos by modelling positive behaviour and challenging inappropriate conduct constructively
Provide direct pastoral, emotional, and behavioural support throughout the school day
Work alongside teachers to support classroom management, supervision, and pupil wellbeing
Contribute to individual education, behaviour, and support plans to help pupils succeed
About YouYou are a calm, empathetic, and resilient professional who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve success.You will have:
Experience working in challenging educational or youth support environments
A strong track record supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Knowledge of strategies that promote emotional regulation, wellbeing, and positive behaviour
A commitment to high professional standards, teamwork, and continuous personal development
