About the Role
The charity is seeking an experienced finance professional to manage its financial functions, ensuring adherence to accounting best practices. The successful candidate will assist in monitoring budgets, working with ledgers, and conducting audits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop financial plans, budgets, and forecasts; conduct financial analysis; monitor trends; identify risks and opportunities; recommend improvements.
2. Budget Management: Manage the annual budgeting process; monitor performance; align budgets with program objectives.
3. Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare financial reports; ensure regulatory compliance; coordinate audits.
4. Cash Flow Management: Manage projections; monitor cash balances; implement strategies to optimize liquidity.
5. Grant and Contract Management: Oversee financial aspects of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.
6. Team Leadership and Development: Lead the finance team; promote a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; Master's preferred.
* Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, etc.) preferred.
* Experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, ideally in the nonprofit sector.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
* Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
