Job Summary
The Assistant Care Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality care services within a Domiciliary Care setting. This position involves working together with another assistant manager to deliver care, developing and implementing care plans tailored to meet the individual needs of clients, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. The Assistant Care Manager will lead a team of care staff, providing guidance and support while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards by completing observations and audits on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and regularly review personalised care plans for clients, ensuring they are tailored to individual needs and preferences.
* Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional development and teamwork.
* Conduct assessments of clients' needs and monitor their progress, making adjustments to care plans as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of client care and ensure all documentation is up to date in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care services.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the home care environment.
* Provide training and support to staff on best practices in care delivery, communication skills, and IT systems used for record keeping.
* Drive to various locations as required to oversee home care services or attend meetings related to client care.
* To assist with duty management, modelling best practice in care delivery, and delivering care when required.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a managerial role within a care home or home care setting is preferred.
* Strong understanding of developing and implementing effective care plans.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and staff.
* Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and using software applications relevant to client management.
* A valid driving licence is essential for travel between locations as part of the role.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while promoting high standards of care delivery.
