The Role: Lead DevOps Engineer
This is a lead role within the Data Collection Platforms team, responsible for the strategic data collection platform and other critical systems. We do not expect new joiners to have skills across our entire technology stack; we will support you to fill technical gaps.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the continual improvement of our technology stack, including cloud-hosted applications with IaC and CI/CD automation, as well as traditional VM-based on-premises systems.
* Lead, mentor, and collaborate with your immediate team and other Technology teams.
* Document and showcase your work to enable team understanding and support.
Skills & Experience:
* Practical experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Azure.
* Practical experience with PowerShell.
* Experience with git for source control.
* Willing to mentor junior engineers.
* Open to experimentation and learning from failures.
* Security-first mindset.
* Experience with automated testing.
* Professionalism, organization, self-motivation, and desire for self-improvement.
* Ability to produce clear documentation.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to manage a demanding workload.
Desirable criteria:
* Experience deploying and configuring Windows systems in Azure using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
* Knowledge of SQL.
* Experience with Azure Monitoring.
* Development experience with C# and SQL Server.
