Assistant Team Manager\n\nLocation: Civic Campus, Euclid Street, SN1 2JG\n\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nContract Duration: 3+ Months\n\nWorking Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week\n\nPay Rate: £ 30.49 per hour \n\nJob Ref: OR10479\n\nResponsibilities\n\nThe role involves delivering and improving services for children, young people, and their families through high-quality social work interventions. This includes leading a team of professional social workers and support staff to provide necessary services within legislative, corporate, and budgetary guidelines. Key responsibilities include:\n\nLeading and managing a team to ensure effective safeguarding and support for children to reach their full potential.\n\t\nRecruiting, developing, and motivating staff to meet the changing demands of the service.\n\t\nAllocating resources and workloads to ensure service delivery within budgetary limits.\n\t\nEnsuring team members record all case work and undertake assessments, analysis, and care planning on necessary systems.\n\t\nAdhering to the Quality Assurance Framework and conducting regular case file audits.\n\t\nEnsuring performance measures are met to drive a high-performing team.\n\t\nManaging risk and child protection through effective assessment and care planning.\n\t\nProviding frequent, reflective, and challenging supervision to enable informed decision-making.\n\t\nDeveloping effective partnership working to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.\n\t\nEnsuring team members address resistant behaviors in families and take necessary action to safeguard children.\n\t\nMaintaining a supervision structure for high-quality reflective supervision and performance appraisals.\n\t\nSupporting effective prioritization processes and managing risks when demand is high.\n\t\nEnsuring effective communication and engagement within the team.\n\t\nProviding oversight, guidance, and support to prevent family breakdown or escalation of issues.\n\t\nRespecting diversity and addressing discriminatory issues in service delivery.\n\t\nPromoting corporate working and understanding of the child or young person’s journey.\n\t\nEncouraging behaviors that promote inclusion and value diversity.\n\t\nPromoting high standards within the team in line with organizational values and behaviors.\n\t\nWorking in accordance with health and safety provisions and cooperating with the Council's duties.\n\t\nUndertaking additional duties as required by the Team Manager.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nThe ideal candidate will have substantial knowledge and experience in the following areas:\n\nDemonstrable management and leadership skills within a social work setting.\n\t\nPost-qualification experience in a front-line social work setting.\n\t\nExperience in recruitment, performance appraisal, and management of operational staff.\n\t\nDetailed knowledge of primary legislation and policy relevant to the service.\n\t\nComputer literacy and performance management skills, including data analysis capabilities.\n\nDISCLAIMER: By applying for this vacancy, you consent to your personal information being shared with our client and any relevant third parties we engage with, for the purpose of assessing your suitability for the role.
