Key Stage 2 Teacher – Maternity Cover (ASAP Start)

Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
We are delighted to be working in partnership with a lovely, welcoming primary school in Darlington who are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 2 Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis, starting as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate KS2 teacher who is keen to make a positive impact and committed to delivering high-quality teaching within a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment where pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.
The Role:
As the Key Stage 2 Teacher, you will:
* Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and creative KS2 lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs of all pupils, including those requiring additional support
* Create a positive, structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes effective learning and positive behaviour
* Work closely with teaching assistants, senior leaders and wider support staff
* Support pupils with a range of learning needs in an inclusive and nurturing way
* Collaborate with therapists and other professionals where appropriate
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
* Have proven experience teaching Key Stage 2 – essential
* Have experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – desirable
* Particularly beneficial: experience working with Autism and ADHD
* Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
* Have a caring, patient, flexible and proactive approach to teaching
