Position Overview
Amazon is seeking a collaborative electrical maintenance professional for our AWS team. The engineering operations technician will serve as the on-site maintenance technician and operator for an AWS data center. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure mission-critical uptime (>99.999%). The role involves troubleshooting, performing maintenance, supporting operations, and driving innovation to reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
2. Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
3. Perform maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC PMs, and rack power installations.
4. Support Data Centre Operations technicians.
5. Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
6. Adhere to all safety procedures.
7. Work 12-hour shifts, including rotating day/night schedules.
8. Take operational readings during rounds.
9. Manage workflows and inventory using internal CMMS.
10. Supervise contractors during servicing and preventive maintenance.
11. Respond to emergency calls during on-call rotations.
12. Follow physical security procedures.

Qualifications
* Commutable to Thames Valley region; able to work in cramped/elevated locations with accommodations.
* Technical training or relevant experience (military or trade school).
* Strong communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and operational tools; familiar with BMS and EPMS systems.
* 4+ years of data center engineering experience; degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or relevant discipline.
* Basic knowledge of network design and low voltage cabling.
* Valid driver’s license, own vehicle, and ability to pass driving record check; travel may be required.
