This Civil Engineer (Energy Infrastructure Design) role is based in our Glasgow office three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home the rest of the week. For the first three months, you will work from the office five days per week to help you settle in. Some travel to client/project sites throughout the UK and internationally will be required.
Responsibilities
* Lead design and delivery of civil infrastructure for energy projects in the EMEA region, supporting sectors including renewables (solar PV, BESS, hydrogen), data centres and conventional power generation (gas, waste-to-energy).
* Interface management with UK electrical and geotechnical leads to develop compatible engineering solutions for projects.
* Input to the delivery of renewable energy project developments within predefined budgets, deadlines and quality requirements.
* Design civil works (earthworks, roads, pavements, drainage) and develop engineering drawings (layouts, long sections, details).
* Apply recognised standards and codes of practice for civil design; ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation (e.g., CDM Regulations).
* Work with Senior Engineers on feasibility studies, calculations, design, specifications and reports; coordinate with the CAD team to deliver engineering drawings (AutoCAD).
* Regularly report project status to management; manage relationships with clients and contractors.
* Contribute to project management activities to mitigate risks and manage project finances and contracts.
* Act as a Point of Contact within the UK team for interaction with other international B&V teams.
* Travel to client/project sites as required (UK and international).
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
* Preferred: MSc in a related field; Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership; full UK Driving Licence; site experience (greenfield, construction and commissioning).
