About Our Client
Our client in North Kent are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their Financial Control team on a full time and permanent basis. This is a broad and hands-on role where you will play a key part in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial records and reporting, while also contributing to process improvement initiatives across the function.
Job Description
Financial Accountant duties include;
3. Support month-end and year-end close, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset accounting
4. Take ownership of key financial accounting areas including intercompany, leases, and intangible assets
5. Prepare and maintain balance sheet, bank, and income statement reconciliations, resolving discrepancies
6. Review and approve invoice coding, supplier payments, and employee expenses
7. Produce VAT returns and other regulatory submissions including payroll-related filings
8. Support technical accounting processes, including IFRS17 reporting
9. Assist in responding to internal and external stakeholder queries
10. Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate processes
11. Contribute to enhancing financial controls and documentation across the team
The Successful Applicant
The successful Financial Accountant should have:
12. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
13. Proven experience in financial accounting or financial control environments
14. Strong understanding of journals, reconciliations, and month-end processes
15. Experience across financial operations (expenses, invoices, payments)
16. Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to automation tools or Power BI advantageous
17. Proactive mindset with the ability to challenge processes and drive improvement
18. Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
