Role will involve some site visits, visits to the company's head office, and home working.
The Client
Our client supplies bespoke joinery to the commercial, leisure, healthcare, education, and fit-out sectors. They design, manufacture, and install internal bespoke joinery and acoustic panelling, as well as fire-rated and specialist doorsets.
The Role
An exciting opportunity for a Project Manager aiming to progress into a Head of Projects role, or someone at that level already.
Leading and managing a range of projects, including subcontractors and materials, focusing on communication, quality, HASAW, and cost. Liaising with clients before and during projects, managing variations, programmes, and integrating commercial, operational, and business development activities through customer service.
Responsibilities
Project Management
* Attend pre-start meetings with clients to understand expectations. Participate in Estimating Handover to determine methodology, discuss subcontractors and suppliers, and draft programmes.
* Lead contract meetings with project teams to identify and resolve issues, using Tasks, Issues, and Scope of Works within Fonn.
* Assist in identifying new subcontractors.
* Lead subcontractor pre-start meetings, set expectations, review foreman duties, and ensure readiness to start.
* Manage the design phase to meet project requirements, collaborating with the CAD design team to address RFIs.
* Address problems, delays, and valuation concerns by engaging with subcontractors, commercial, and project teams.
* Issue Early Warning Notices in line with the contract when necessary, based on project progress ratios.
Quality
* Provide progress reports, document variations, handle deliveries, and complete quality documentation, including fire door installations, using Fonn.
* Ensure subcontractor foremen fulfill their duties as per subcontractor orders and Fonn documentation.
* Produce a Quality Inspection Plan tailored to each project, including third-party approved installation instructions.
* Conduct site measures and surveys as required, coordinating with the workshop where possible.
* Maintain accredited status for fire door installations through proactive liaising with accrediting bodies and audits.
* Ensure each installation is accompanied by a Quality Sign Off form in Fonn.
Client Satisfaction
* You represent the company; maintaining good client relationships is crucial, especially with repeat clients. Collaborate with management on commercial decisions when needed.
Commercial Management
* Contribute to the financial management of projects, respond promptly to information requests, and identify variations and daywork sheets for signing.
* Understand project budgets and suggest improvements. Discuss project performance with the commercial team regularly.
* Attend site with QS as needed, especially towards month-end, and participate in final account meetings prepared.
Health & Safety
* Lead by example, promoting HS&E procedures and compliance with legal and company standards.
* Ensure RAMS are prepared before site work begins, conduct toolbox talks, monitor safety incidents, and perform safety audits.
