As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will not need to prepare lessons—you will be delivering pre-planned content, managing the classroom, and keeping students engaged in their learning. Responsibilities: Take charge of the classroom in the teacher’s absence, ensuring lessons continue smoothly. Use ready-made lesson plans to guide students through their learning for the day. Keep an eye on student behaviour and engagement, flagging any issues where needed. Motivate pupils to get involved, contribute ideas, and work well with others. Confidently step into different year groups and subject areas as required. Promote a respectful, calm, and focused atmosphere where all students can thrive. Requirements: Previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable. Strong classroom presence and the ability to manage groups of students effectively. A proactive, reliable, and flexible attitude. Interest in education—perfect for aspiring teachers or ECTs. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
